Every year, the University System of Georgia and East Georgia State College work hard to obtain the most competitive rates and most valuable benefits for students enrolling in the USG Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). We work with an Advisory Committee to help recommend the best approach for plan benefits and premiums each year.
For the 2024-2025 Academic Year, there are no changes to plan benefits, and there will be a premium increase of 2.8% across all categories of students and enrollees – or a $6.67 per month increase for the mandatory student-only category and a $9.33 per month increase for the voluntary category. This increase is down from last year, even with inflationary pressures impacting the plan.
The chart below shows the annual premium for each tier.
